Attorneys across the nation are challenging one another to send pizzas to hospitals and first responders in each other’s cities.
This simple act of kindness — turned competition — is not just helping to feed and fuel first responders and those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic; it’s also providing much needed business to family-owned pizza shops and their employees.
How it All Started
Boston-based Nussbaum Law Group PC sent the first 222 pizzas to Arkansas Children’s Hospital after its founder, Larry Nussbaum, visited lawyer friend, Anthony Johnson, in Little Rock shortly before the pandemic began. This act of generosity got the ball rolling and sparked a movement.
From there, Nussbaum turned the act into a competition, nominating Johnson to do the same — helping to further drive donation efforts across the country. In turn, Johnson’s firm – Linville Johnson — decided to not only return the favor to their Boston-area friends, but also upped the ante by having 777 pizzas delivered to hospitals in Boston, MA.
Now, it’s becoming so much more. Johnson has since nominated two firms of his own — Chaffin Luhana LLP and Laborde Earles Injury Lawyers — helping to further drive donation efforts across the country. And, in turn, those firms are nominating others as well.
All family-owned and locally run pizzerias have been utilized for these efforts. To learn more about this movement, visit @awesomeattorney and watch the video.
